UNISSA sends 10 to join community service overseas

UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) has selected 10 of its students to participate in a 15-day community service programme in Indonesia.

Accompanied by UNISSA Student Dean Dr Azme Hj Matali, the students left for West Java, Indonesia, yesterday from Brunei International Airport.

Titled “Community Service and Student Attachment Programme”, it is conducted by UNISSA’s Student Welfare and Development Committee. While in Indonesia, the students will be attached to boarding schools — the Al-Mubarokah; Miftahul Huda Al-Musri and Al-Musri.

UNISSA in a statement said the programme serves to develop the students into confident Muslims who are physically and spiritually strong. The programme also aims to improve networks between both nations by encouraging sharing in of education.
