EXPERIENCING Muslim culture and the teachings of Islam has led a 39-year-old Greek man to embrace Islam in a ceremony held at his brother-in-law’s residence in Kg Tungku yesterday.

The Greek man, who is also a managing director of a company based in Dubai, has chosen the name Adam Athanasios Flampouris as his Muslim name.

In an interview with The Brunei Times, Adam said that the exposure towards Muslim communities in Dubai for about seven years had made him learn the goodness of Islamic culture.

He said the impact of such exposure was further added with encouragement and guidance from his Muslim family members in Brunei, including his brother-in-law, Pg Hj Adanan Pg Seri Indera Pg Hj Ismail.

Among the Islamic teachings that opened his heart

were that Muslims were taught not to do harm to others, to wish prosperity on everyone and to try as much to give what they can to others.
