NO SUCH information has been released by either NASA or BBC concerning cosmic rays passing the earth causing harmful radiation through cell phones, authorities said yesterday.

The statement from the Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) came following a message that went viral on social media regarding cosmic rays passing close to earth.

The message has been confirmed as a hoax said AITI which also advised the public not to fall victim to the viral hoax messages.

“A similar message was first issued in 2010 and has since been spreading unnecessary fear.”
