Contraband seized in Brunei River raid

THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) have encountered several offences relating to the Customs Act and Immigration Act during a combined operation yesterday.
The operation was carried out along the Brunei River, where the authorities found cases of contraband smuggling, including cigarettes, and those travelling without valid travel documents.
Senior Operation Officers at the Marine Police, ASP Kasnol Hj Muhammad Kincho, led a total of 47 enforcement officers from the Marine Police of the RBPF, the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the Immigration and National Registration Department and the Narcotics Control Bureau.
The RBPF in a statement said that the operation was aimed to thwart offences carried out in the Brunei River, primarily illegal licensing, registration and use of water taxis.
