Brunei may have occasional showers
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
BRUNEI may experience occasional showers or thunderstorms with wind gusts reaching 60 km/h – daily average at 05-30 km/h – from December 9 to 11 due to the impact of Typhoon Hagupit.
The Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) said that the typhoon will continue to move to West-Northwest, crossing the Philippines. The BDMD, in a previous statement on November 24, reminded the public that El Nino is mostly likely to occur over the Asia Pacific region during the remainder of 2014, through to early 2015.
In relation to this, the Sultanate may experience slightly subdued weather activities during this month and January 2015.
The BDMD would like to inform the public — motorists and mariners — to be on alert and take extra precautions in the coastal or sea areas. The BDMD will continue to monitor the movement of the typhoon. The people are advised to rely on reliable statements regarding weather updates as the circulation of unverified information, especially on social media, may lead to panic. — _Khai Zem Mat San_i
