BRUNEI will be having a volunteers’ festival next week to commemorate the International Volunteers’ Day, which is celebrated on December 5 every year, as mandated by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

Hj Mohd Rosfazilah Haji Yusly, Acting Chief of Youth and Sports Officer told The Brunei Times that a number of activities have been planned for the duration of the festival, where various local organisations were invited to showcase their achievements and other activities.

“The most important thing is that, the festival is considered as a sharing session for what they have done and what they will be doing in the future with regards to volunteering activities,” he said.

“One of the highlights of the festival is that we invited active volunteer organisations from abroad so they can come here and share their experiences with our local organisations,” he said.

“And we also invited musical clubs, which, hopefully will enliven the festival more,” he added.
