8 local students to joinyouth camp in Singapore

EIGHT students from different public schools and two chaperones left for Singapore yesterday to attend the annual Sunburst Youth Camp.

The programme will be held for a week, starting today until December 6th.

The camp is conducted by the Singapore Technologies Endowment Programme (STEP) with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education (MoE) to provide exciting opportunities for the young leaders of Asia to come together for a week of sharing.

According to the MoE press release, most of the programme activities would be related to leadership course and to gain more experience with regard to communication and teamwork.

The programme also aims for the young leaders of Asia to build understanding, to bond and foster goodwill throughout Asia.

MoE selected two students from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan, four students from Sixth Form Centre, a student from Maktab Duli and one from Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School to participate in the programme.

Since 2001, a total of 1,200 students had taken part in the programme from the ASEAN member states, China, India, South Korea and Turkey.
