500 MoRA personnel awarded certificates of completion of courses

SOME 500 personnel of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday were awarded certificates of completion of a total of 44 courses they participated starting from November last year.
Present to handover the certificates in a ceremony held at the Hua Ho Manggis Ballroom yesterday was the Deputy Permanent Secretary at MoRA, Ustaz Hj Harun Hj Juned.
The event also saw the distribution of the new 100 hours of training notebook to heads of department under the ministry.
In his speech, Hj Sufri Kurus, the ministry’s Head of the Human Resources Development and Planning Section, said the event was a tradition aimed at celebrating and appreciating recipients for their participations in courses provided throughout the year.
“Alhamdulillah, this year, the training (arranged) in the ministry has (new developments) in its approaches, especially in terms of building positive attitudes through series of talks delivered by renowned motivational (speakers),” he said.
“At the ministerial level, training sessions were more dir ected towards fulfilling the needs of inter-department and common skills, while the departmental levels were more focused towards acquiring the (specific) skills needed for the respective departments,” he added.
Courses that were carried out throughout the year includes the enhancement on the understanding of Syariah Penal Code, leadership course for principals and a workshop to draft prosection of policies on Syariah-related crimes.
This year, Hj Sufri also said that it was the first time for the ministry to co-organise a course with another government agency, namely the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) for a course to shape identity among the participants.
The collaboration, he said, has fostered good relations between the two agencies and has the potential to be further developed from time to time.
Also present during the ceremony was Hj Zulkifli Panglima Asgar Dato Paduka Haji Abdullah, Director of Administration in MoRA and Major Rusli Bujang, head of the counselling centre at the RBAF.
