FORTY students of Sayyidina Husain Secondary School yesterday received certificates for completing a three-day leadership camp held at the Youth Centre in the capital.

The students — from Year Eight to 10 — were members of the school’s student representative council.

“With the students completing the camp, what is left now is the responsibility of the students to use the finesse they’ve learnt throughout the course of the camp for their education or for their life,” said the Principal of Sayyidina Husain Secondary School, Zarina Hj Kadir.

The camp which was designed to build high quality leadership and teamwork skills was jointly organised by the school and the Youth and Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Throughout the three days, participants took part in various activities that were meant to teach them how to work in a team, develop life and social skills, boost their mental and physical strengths as well as enhance their spirituality.

She said she hoped the students would inculcate a sense of responsibility and perform their duties with integrity, honesty and dedication, in which they could become ‘role models’ for other students and the future generation.

Present as the guest of honour was Assistant Director of the Department of Schools, Tuan Hj Salleh Hj Mahmud, who handed over certificates to the participants.
