S’pore chief justice talks legal issues with attorney general

THE Attorney General of Brunei Darussalam yesterday received a courtesy call from the Chief Justice of Singapore Sundaresh Menon.

Menon and his delegation were in Brunei for the Third Joint Judicial Conference hosted for the first time by the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam.

The chief justice previously held at the post of attorney general from October 1, 2010 till June 24, 2012.

During the courtesy call at the Attorney General’s Chamber (AGC), Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Hjh Hayati POKSDSP Hj Mohd Salleh and Menon exchanged views on various legal issues.

The chief justice also spoke of the delegation’s memorable visits in Brunei including Kampong Ayer.

AGC in a statement said the courtesy call reciprocated the attorney general’s courtesy call on the chief justice last October when she along with her delegation attended a Sentencing Conference in Singapore.

The courtesy call concluded with an exchange of gifts.

Also present were Solicitor General Naimah Md Ali, Legal Draftsman Alice Khan Ahmad Khan, and senior officers of the Attorney General’s Chambers.
