Investigation of Bukit Shahbandar murder ‘still ongoing’
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said “a lot” of people came forward to assist ongoing investigations into the death of a woman at Bukit Shahbandar after it issued a notice seeking two persons of interest about two months ago.
When contacted yesterday for updates on the case, the RBPF spokesperson said law enforcers were still awaiting forensic test results, but did not give a time frame on the release of the outcome.
The spokesperson, who declined to be named, said investigations were still ongoing when asked whether any suspects have been identified.
The victim, Chin Mei Fong, was reported missing at Bukit Shahbandar on September 7 and found dead the next day. The crime was classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
On September 19, the RBPF appealed to members of the public in locating two persons of interest who are potential witnesses to the case.
Close family and friends of the late Chin had also distributed sketches of the two persons of interests at public places including commercial areas.
Those who have information relating to the case are advised to either contact Assistant Superintendent of Police Pg Hj Abu Naba’a Pg Hj Yusof at 2322004, 2322005 and 2322006, police hotline 993 or report to any police station.
