BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
TWENTY-FIVE Bruneian students headed off to India for an exchange programme yesterday.
The selected pre-university and university students are expected to apply what they learned during the 10-day visit, which will also see them engaging with their peers to build closer ties.
Senior Youth and Sports Officer Hj Md Som Hj Aji, who is also head of delegation, said the invited youth meeting by India is considered the “Youth ASEAN Summit”.
This is where the students will exchange ideas among their ASEAN counterparts.
He said the students will not only be touring attractions in India, but also showcase Brunei’s culture during the programme.
The officer added that the participants will study India’s development and find ideas that could also be introduced and implemented in the Sultanate.
The group’s youth leader, Muhd Taib Azamuddin, hoped the students would share their experiences during the visit.
He said the students will attend classes based on their course of study or interests such as management, youth, information and communications technology, business and medicine, among others.
The programme will take the students to Agra, Mumbai and New Delhi, where they will visit major places that promote India’s cultural heritage.
