HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam bestowed the Darjah Kerabat Mahkota Brunei (D.K.M.B.) to His Royal Highness Sultan Ibrahim, the Sultan of Johor Darul Ta’zim, yesterday.

His Majesty, accompanied by Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, also attended the Royal Wedding Ceremony of His Royal Highness Tunku Ismail, the Tunku Mahkota of Johor and Cik Puan Khaleeda Bustamam.

Also accompanying His Majesty and Her Majesty to both ceremonies were His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah; and other members of the Royal Family.

Upon arrival to the bestowing ceremony, His Majesty and Her Majesty were welcomed by His Royal Highness Sultan Ibrahim, the Sultan of Johor Darul Ta’zim and Her Royal Highness Sultanah Raja Zarith Sofiah, the Sultanah of Johor Darul Ta’zim and other members of Johor Royal Family.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Doa Keberangkatan Tiba read by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Hj Nooh Gadot, the Islamic Advisor to the Sultan of Johor and State of Johor.

His Majesty then consented to bestow the Darjah Kerabat Mahkota Brunei (D.K.M.B) to HRH the Sultan of Johor.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by the Brunei’s State Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Aziz Juned.

Also present during the ceremony were HRH Tunku Ismail, the Tunku Mahkota Johor and Cik Puan Khaleeda.

After the ceremony, His Majesty and Her Majesty and other members of the Royal Family attended the Royal Wedding Ceremony at Istana Besar Johor Bahru.

The ceremony began with the arrival of His Majesty and Her Ma-jesty together with HRH the Sultan of Johor and HRH the Sultanah.

Upon arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty were invited to the Bilik Persemayaman before proceeding to the Dewan Singgahsana for the Merenjis and Menepung Tawar ceremony.

The Royal Bride and Groom took their place at the Paratna in the Dewan Singgahsana of the Istana Besar Johor Bahru and was followed by a recital of Doa Selamat read by the Mufti of Johor, Yang Berhormat Sahibus Samahah Dato’ Haji Mohd Tahrir.

The Merenjis and Menepung Tawar ceremony was led by His Majesty and Her Majesty.

This was followed by HRH Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, the Sultan of Pahang Darul Makmur; HRH Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom Abdullah, the Sultanah of Pahang Darul Makmur; HRH the Sultan of Johor; HRH the Sultanah of Johor; and other Royal Guests.

His Majesty and Her Majesty also attended a Banquet held at the Dewan Santapan Istana Besar Johor Bahru where they congratulated the Royal Bride and Groom.

HRH Tunku Ismail, the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, and Cik Puan Khaleeda were solemnised on the October 24, 2014 at the Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Bahru.
