PR detained with smuggled alcohol and cigarettes

A PERMANENT resident was detained by the Royal Brunei Police Force after he was found with a black package in a car at Kg Bebuluh.
The 44-year-old man was detained during a patrol by personnel of the Reserve Company āCā as he was suspected of smuggling alcoholic drinks, according to a statement issued by the RBPF.
In addition to the alcoholic drinks that totaled 24 cans, over 30 cartons of various cigarette brands and two bags of frozen chicken wings were confiscated by the RBPF during the patrol conducted earlier this week.
The suspect was apprehended for further investigation at the Limau Manis Police Station.
The RBPF has warned the public not to get involved in smuggling and encouraged individuals to report suspicious activity to the police hotline at 993 or at the nearest police station. - Nabilah Haris
