BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
THE Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Mohd Yusof, hosted a welcoming dinner for the delegates of the 10th One Asia Breasfeeding Partners Forum 2014 last night.
In his speech, he said the convergence of speakers and participants would enrich and heighten the forum as an avenue for closer networking and synergy among the relevant stakeholders to improve maternal, infant and young child nutrition in the region. He added that full commitment to identify innovative approaches is needed to address the issue.
“Evidence has clearly shown the direct impact of nutrition to health. The outcome (of addressing the issue) will ultimately contribute to better quality of life for our people, and in the socio-economic development of the country and the region as a whole,” said the minister.
International Baby Food Action Network representative Dr Arun Gupta also gave a speech before the minister gave mementos to the speakers and awards to the Mother, Infant and Young Child Nutrition logo contest winners.
