A LOCAL male and female have been arrested for the theft of 14 cars over the course of September and October this year.

Acting on a public tip-off the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) apprehended the pair, who are in their mid-thirties.

They were brought before the court last week to request that they be remanded while investigations continue.

The theft of the 14 cars - the owners of two of which the police are still looking for to identify - was reported to the police stations in Berakas, Sengkurong and Limau Manis.

The areas where the cars were allegedly stolen are around the vicinity of Batu Satu, Jln Tutong, Jln Beribi, Kg Sg Tilong, Perpindahan Lambak Kanan, STKRJ Lambak Kiri, Serusop, Jln Pasir Berakas and Junjongan.

The pair will be brought before the court today.

RBPF also took the opportunity to thank the public for their co-operation on the case in a press statement issued yesterday, and advised the public to relay any potential information to their 993 hotline or nearby police stations.
