A KEY handing over ceremony for the new surau at Kg Belimbing’s Tasik Sarubing Leisure Park took place yesterday.

The Acting District Officer of Brunei-Muara Mohd Sunadi Hj Buntar, who attended the ceremony as the guest of honour, received the ceremonial key to the surau from the manager of Ilham Ahim Contractor.

Mohd Sunadi then presented the surau key to the Belimbing village chief

Yang Berhormat Hj Gapor @ Hj Md Daud Karim.

The $34,000 project to upgrade the park began on June 19 and was completed on September 24.

The village chief also received five fans for the new surau from MAL STAR Enterprise.

The ceremony concluded with the recital of prayers followed by a tour of the park and its new surau.
