PMO briefs officials on terror threats

THE Prime Minister’s Office held a closed-door counter-terrorism briefing for security officials yesterday, in a bid to raise awareness over growing threat from global terror networks.
Invited speaker, Nick Gibbons, Director of Strategy and National Counter Terrorism in the UK, briefed the local security and enforcement agencies on international security threats and current developments in terror networks.
Gibbons shared his experience in preparations for the 2012 London Olympic Games, and also explained ways in which they assessed security threats and formulated control measures. Among the attendees at yesterday’s briefing was Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awg Halbi Hj Mohd Yussof, and Royal Brunei Armed Forces Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Tawih Abdullah.
