SVW appreciates its computing model course instructors

WASAN Vocational School (SVW) presented tokens of apppreciation to instructors of the Leadership or One-to-One Computing in Model Schools Programme (1:1 CiMS) yesterday.

Present at the awards ceremony at SVW’s campus were Acting Principal Saiful Rizal Hj Marali along with instructors IDigital Consulting PTY Ltd (IDC) Director Andy Street and IDC Principal of Pedagogy Christine Street.

Several SVW teachers participated in the programme.

The ceremony began with a speech from 1:1 CiMS Programme representative Dr Liew Shin Min who, on behalf of the teachers, said they were thankful to IDC for empowering SVW’s education.

“Big thanks go to IDC for the great opportunity to improve our education system through the use of technology and digital applications since June of last year,” the teacher said.

Meanwhile Lau Liang Leng a student from the Fisheries Studies Department described the implementation of the programme as having helped their education and overall experience within the classrooms and has changed them for the better.

Andy and Christine Street then collaboratively delivered their speech expressing their appreciation for giving them the opportunity to conduct the programme. This was followed by a short video showcasing the impact of the 1:1 CIMS Programme in different schools in Brunei.

Acting Principal Saiful Rizal then presented certificates and plaques to the Instructors from IDC and the participating teachers before taking a group photo together.

Brunei's '1:1 CiMS' project is aimed at building capacity of teachers and leaders from the five model schools (including Wasan Vocational School) to develop 21st Century teaching and learning practices and develop exemplary models of future classrooms.

Designed by the Ministry of Education, the project aims to transform the use of ICT in education and encourage the adoption of 21st Century educational practices in Brunei schools.
