A BUFFALO was seen galloping down Jln Tutong yesterday afternoon causing traffic to move at a snail's pace.

Motorists who encountered the buffalo along the stretch of road stopped to take pictures and videos of the incident which quickly made its way across social media.

The Royal Brunei Police Force received a call through 993 around 2.30pm and dispatched a Rapid Response team to handle the situation.

The buffalo was first spotted on Jln Bengkurong making its way onto the main roads before being stopped at the government housing area next to Istana Nurul Iman. The incident quite possibly became ‘joke of the day’ yesterday as the country celebrated Hari Raya Aidil Adha or the feast of sacrifices, where coincidentally Muslims celebrated the occasion with the slaughtering of goats and buffaloes to be distributed amongst the poor and needy.

Aidil Adha was celebrated across the country yesterday, with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consenting to the sacrifice of 14 goats and 66 buffaloes which will be distributed to 6,145 _asnaf_(poor and needy families).
