MASWINGS have offered to fully refund or assist in changing travel plans for those who have purchased tickets on its four times a week service between Kuching and Bandar Seri Begawan via Mulu from October 26.

It said the decision to suspend services on the route was part of the carrier’s network rationalisation for it to focus on growing its domestic routes, which is also its core market, according to a press statement yesterday.

MASwings Chief Executive Officer Captain Ritzerwan Rashid said: “MASwings continuously reviews its network strategy to meet the market’s needs and to support economic growth in Sabah and Sarawak.

“MASwings is committed to being our guests’ first choice carrier to get across the vast states of Sabah and Sarawak. Hence, being able to put resources where the market demands it is important,’’ he added.

The statement said that all affected MASwings’ guests would be notified via email, SMS blast and calls.

MASwings said it regretted the inconvenience caused due to the changes and assured that all bookings throughout the affected dates would be honoured.

Meanwhile, passengers can continue to fly daily from Kota Kinabalu to Bandar Seri Begawan on MASwings code share flights with Royal Brunei Airlines.

Customers may visit MASwings ticket offices, call their respective travel agents, or contact Malaysia Airlines’ 24-hour call centre at 1300883000 (within Malaysia), and +60378433000 (outside Malaysia).
