Bilateral interactions have made positive contributions to mutual trust and furthering cooperation in bilateral defence ties, he said during a dinner reception to mark the 87th anniversary of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) last night.

Among the interactions include a working visit by the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the PLA, Admiral Sun Jianguo to Brunei, Brunei’s participation in the Western Pacific Naval Symposium in Qingdao last April, and the sailing of the KDB Darulehsan to China while joining a multilateral exercise for the first time.

Attending the reception was the Deputy Minister of Defence Dato Paduka Hj Mustapa Hj Sirat and Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Zheng Xianglin.

The PLA is one of the world’s most advanced military forces, consisting of the army, navy, air force and the second artillery Force.
