Fostering closer ties with Raya gatherings

THE smooth-running operation for healthcare is only possible with the understanding and support from the family members of officers and staff said the minister of health.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Mohd Yusof noted this during the ministry’s Hari Raya celebration held yesterday at Dewan Al’Afiah.

“What I hope to emphasise here is the great role that family members play in carrying out our duties as they are an important factor in helping us reach our goals.”

YB Pehin Dato Hj Adanan also reminded officers and staff of the responsibility that they have towards the healthcare of the general public and urged them to continuously improve their services

The annual celebration was organised by the Department of Health Services under the ministry this year and it aimed to foster greater and stronger ties between one another.

The celebration kicked off with a joyful stage performance from staffs of the ministry, where guests were further entertained with chances to win prizes from the lucky draw competition.

Highlighting this year’s Raya concept, the ministry took upon itself to promote ‘makanan sihat’ (healthier food) dishes during the celebration.

In a statement by the ministry, this year’s Raya event aimed to incorporate healthy living through healthier food choices. The ministry assembled each department to design enticing Raya menus that are both scrumptious and healthy through their “Pondok Makan” booths.

Also joining in the festive Aidil Fitri mood, the Ministry of Education yesterday held its own ceremony at the Rimba II secondary school, Kampung Rimba.

Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Hj (Dr) Abu Bakar Hj Apong and Deputy Minister Dato Seri Setia Hj Yusoff Hj Ismail, were both present with their wives.

Joining in the festivities with them were more than 200 officers from several departments under the ministry.

The ministry in a statement stated the gathering was to celebrate Hari Raya with the theme Sepadu Berkonsepkan MIB or to stand Unified in the MIB (Malay Islamic Monarchy) concept.

“The celebration aims to forge stronger ties among the ministry’s residents so it can move forward as one efficient team; with its eyes set on the National Vision,” the statement read.

Ceremony organising committee member Pg Sarimah Pg Hj Ahmad began the event with her welcoming remarks followed by a digital screening that featured Hari Raya personal greetings from the minister.

The celebration got even more festive with stage performances from students of the Rimba 2 Primary School and Rimba 2 Secondary School.

Also present at the event was Education Permanent Secretaries (Core Education) Dr Hj Junaidi Hj Abd Rahman, (Higher Education) Dato Paduka Dr Hj Zulkarnain Hj Hanafi and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali Rector Dr Hj Norarfan Hj Zainal Abidin.

Similarly, Selamat Hari Raya greetings echoed at the Darul Huda building of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) in Kg Pulaie as the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) organised a Hari Raya Aidil Fitri get-together session for the ministry officials, yesterday morning.

Guests were treated to a gastronomic food spread and mingled with the minister as the guest of honour, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohamad Pengiran Hj Abd Rahman and spouse, Datin Hjh Alimah Mohd Taib.

The event started with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and _Doa Selamat _prayers read by Ustaz Zulkifli Hj Murat, Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque officer.

In his opening remarks, Hj Abd Rajid Hj Mohd Salleh as the co-chairperson of the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri get-together event shared that the annual event is aimed to strengthen bond between the ministry’s officials and as one of the ministry’s social event to nurture positive ties between invited guests.
