THE Ministry of Health continued its Aidil Fitri celebrations, this time with inpatients at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital yesterday.

About 100 patients treated in the paediatric wards, the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Paediatric Haematology-Oncology, and maternity ward received hampers.

In addition, traditional green packets were also presented to 44 children and 53 newborns at the Paediatric Unit.

Leading the distribution of the gifts was Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Mohd Yusuf, who was accompanied by his wife, Datin Paduka Hjh Salmah Hj Hanafiah.

YB Pehin Dato Hj Adanan and the entourage began their visit at the paediatric wards. The minister also took the opportunity to speak with parents or families of the patients, while a doctor at the paediatric ward briefed the minister on the conditions of several children receiving treatment at the hospital.

The event aimed to provide care and continued support to those who are currently being treated at the hospital in the hopes of raising the patients’ spirits as they could not be at home to celebrate the festivities with their families.

The annual event was also intended to continue to take place in the coming years to enliven the Aidil Fitri celebrations together with the patients and their family.

Also in attendance were the permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretaries, and other hospital officials.
