His Majesty calls for nationwide prayers for safety of Palestinians

BY the command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, a ‘Munajat Negara ceremony’ will be held today where a reading of the Surah Yassin and Sunat Hajat prayers will be conducted in mosques nationwide to seek for the protection and safety of the Palestinians from the violence and cruelty of their enemy.
The event, slated to begin at 10.45am, will take place in all mosques, prayer halls and religious halls throughout the country with main focal points being Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Brunei-Muara, Kg Pandan Mosque in Belait, Hassanal Bolkiah, Pekan Tutong in Tutong, Muhammad Salleh Main Mosque in Pekan Bangar, Temburong.
His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will be attending the ceremony with the public at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.
Following the royal call for prayers, the Ministry of Education announced that all male students from 29 primary and 38 secondary schools and 16 higher educational institutions will take part in the nationwide prayers for the Palestinian people tomorrow morning. The ministry has advised parents to pick up their children from schools starting 2pm onwards. Schools not involved are urged to conduct their own prayer ceremony during school hours, read the statement.
Heeding the royal call for prayers, many government agencies and private companies postponed their morning functions to attend the ceremony throughout the country.
