Woman escapes unhurt as vehicle overturns

A SENIOR citizen escaped unhurt after her new Ford Ranger car overturned on the side of the road towards Jalan Tutong amid rainy conditions last night.

Chong Jeou Ying, husband of the victim, said his 66-year-old wife, Jeh Yeh Fong, lost control of the vehicle when her steering and brake froze.

Speaking to _The Brunei Times _at the scene of the accident, the 71-year-old said he received a call from his wife informing him of the accident at around 6.30pm.

Upon arrival, he found that his wife was already out of the car and she was later brought to the hospital for further observation.

He added that the Ford Ranger driven by his wife was new, with a mileage at around 10,000.

Meanwhile, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) stated that the incident was a self-accident.

It added that no injuries were reported and no government property were affected by the accident.

The RBPF has also advised the public to be cautious when driving on the road and not to speed especially when driving past corners.
