720 register at job fair
BRUNEI-MUARA
THE second day of the career and job fair at the Energy Week 2014 registered 720 jobseekers yesterday as the oil and gas industry seeks to recruit more locals.
A total of 1,415 jobseekers have registered electronically at the fair since it opened on Monday.
With the fair running until March 29 at the BRIDEX Hall 1, the number of registrations is expected to increase over the week.
Registered jobseekers can check the status of their applications on the Energy Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EDPMO) website at _www.energy.gov.bn _or www.energylbd.gov.bn.
Meanwhile, 1,130 job vacancies are up for grabs at the fair in areas such as administration, aviation, finance, construction, engineering, legal, marine and IT.
Aside from promoting opportunities in the oil and gas industry, the fair aims to provide better job-matching for jobseekers.
Statistics collected from the fair will be shared with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Energy Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EDPMO) and other ministries.
The job fair is taking place between 9am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday with a break during the Friday prayers.
