HRH visits Kuwait’s Al-Shaheed Brigade

HIS Royal Highness Prince General Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, General of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, consented to visit the 35th Al-Shaheed Armour Brigade, in Kuwait yesterday.

HRH was greeted by Lieutenant General (Rtd) Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the State of Kuwait.

HRH and Sheikh Khaled then received Salute of Honour followed by the national anthems of both Brunei Darussalam and the State of Kuwait. The Crown Prince was then introduced to Military Defence Council members, Under Secretary and other officers of the 35th Brigade before proceeding to Terrain Model Hall for a briefing on the structure and organisation of the brigade.

During the visit, HRH was also invited to study a tank and view demonstration of armoured and transport tanks. He was also invited to board an armoured tank before consenting for a photo session. The visit concluded with HRH consenting to receive a “Pesambah” (gift) from Sheikh Khaled and in return presented a plaque to the Deputy Prime Minister.

HRH was then invited to a luncheon hosted by Sheikh Khaled in honour of the visit.

Accompanying HRH were Counsellor Nasir Al-Radwan, Chief of the Mission of Honour as Minister In Attendance; Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hj Apong; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the State of Kuwait Pg Hj Mustapha Pg Hj Aliudiin and Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces General Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Yussof Hj Abdul Rahman.
