THE Royal Brunei Air Force held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new supply warehouse at its base in Rimba.

The project, valued at about $3.1million, started its nine-month construction on January 3 and is expected to be completed by October 2, according to information posted on the Ministry of Defence’s website yesterday.

The new supply warehouse was built to accommodate the increasing storage requirements of the Royal Brunei Air Force’s spare parts due to its new fleet of aircraft.

The two-storey building will have a floor area of 2,324 square metres and equipped with a fire suppression and alarm system, closed circuit television (CCTV), and a public address system.

Acting Royal Brunei Air Force Commander Colonel (U) Hj Hamzah Hj Sahat was present at the groundbreaking ceremony, along with other senior officials.

The engineering consultant engaged for the project is Jumin Marsal Perunding and the main contractor is Unicorp Sdn Bhd.
