A TOTAL of 600 pilgrims will soon fly off to the holy land of Saudi Arabia to perform the Umrah with Brunei’s main Haj and Umrah travel agency, Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd.

The 600 jemaah, or congregants, will be travelling from March 8 to April 6, 2014 which coincides with the school holidays.

During a briefing for the pilgrims at the Al-Falaah School in Kg Sg Akar yesterday, the jemaah were told what to expect and their arrangements for the journey.

Present to conduct the briefing was Darussalam Holdings Head of Haj and Umrah Department Pg Ibrahim Pg Hj Bakar.

A lecture on appreciating the Umrah was also delivered by Ustaz Hj Abd Kahar Hj Ali.

The Ustaz explained methods related to umrah and reminded the pilgrims of the benefits and blessings bestowed upon the jemaah while in the holy land of Madina al Munawwarah and al Mukarramah.

“Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd as conductors of Haj and Umrah vows to provide continuous great service to our clients,” said a statement from the travel agency.

“Packages offered (by Darussalam Holdings) are meant to give an opportunity to the public to fill their time with their children and families during the school holidays,” added the statement.

Darussalam Holdings stated that bookings for Umrah packages for April to June were still available.

Known for its Islamic tourism packages, the travel agency invited interested parties to head over to its Haj and Umrah counter at The Airport Mall, Jalan Berakas, for more information.

Upon its establishment in 1993, Darussalam Holdings was given permission by the Ministry of Religious Affairs to accommodate Bruneians interested to perform the Haj pilgrimage and Umrah.
