THE Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday received a working visit from a delegation from Malaysia’s Pusat Pungutan Zakat (Tithe Collection Centre) Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP).

The Malaysian delegation of eight was led by the Chairman of PPZ, Datuk Hj Che Mat Che Ali.

During their visit to MoRA, the delegation was briefed on the acquisition and distribution of zakat in Brunei by the Acting Deputy Secretary of the Islamic Religious Council of Brunei, Hajah Mahani Hj Musa.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the ties between the board members of Hartasuci Sdn Bhd/PPZ-MAIWP and the Islamic Religious Council of Brunei as well as to build a network of greater cooperation on any aspect related to the spread of zakat in the Federal Territory of Malaysia (Wilayah Persekutuan Malaysia) and Brunei.
