2 Brunei envoys receive letters of credence

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday presented letters of credence to two newly-appointed Brunei envoys and received letters of credence from three new foreign envoys at Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty presented the letters of credence to Pg Kasmirhan Pg Hj Mohd Tahir, Brunei Ambassador to Cambodia, and Hj Mulok Hj Jumat, Brunei Ambassador to Iran.

His Majesty then received letters of credence from Indian High Commissioner Dr Ashok Kumar Amrohi, Indonesian Ambassador Nurul Qomar, and Ambassador of Oman Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Rashed Hashel Al-Maskar.

His Majesty then received in audience the two newly-appointed Brunei envoys.

Pg Kasmirhan previously served as permanent secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, while Hj Mulok Hj Jumat was a senior administrative officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade before being appointed the Iran ambassador post.

His Majesty then granted separate audience to three foreign envoys.

First to be received by His Majesty was Indian High Commissioner Dr Ashok Kumar Amrohi. He previously served as the High Commissioner of India to Mozambique and Swaziland.

This was followed by Nurul Qomar. She previously served as the deputy head of mission at the Indonesian Embassy in Brunei.

The monarch also received in audience Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Rashed Hashel Al-Maskar. He held the post of adviser to Oman’s Minister of Social Development before being ambassador of Oman to the Sultanate.
