HEAVY vehicles and goods operators are reminded not to allow their drivers to use the main roads during the 30th National Day celebration, this weekend.

Some roads will be closed to facilitate the movement of shuttle bus services from 5am until the end of the event, said the Motor Transport Licensing Authority (MTLA) press statement. All roads leading to the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium will be closed including Jalan Stadium, Jalan Perdana Menteri Roundabout to Jalan Utama Berakas Roundabout, Commonwealth Drive to Jalan Pusat Persidangan, Jalan Manteri Besar, Jalan Kebangsaan, Jalan Pusat Dakwah and Jalan Sejahtera 1. In the run-up to the celebration, the Traffic Control and Investigation Department of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF JSKLL) will also be conducting a temporary road closure today (Feb 19) and tomorrow (Feb 20) and as when required for rehearsals. MTLA is reminding company owners and managers to advise their drivers that they are not allowed to go through the affected roads and to use alternate routes as well as to follow orders by road traffic personnel.
