Show of patriotism at Politeknik Brunei

POLITEKNIK Brunei held a flag raising ceremony in conjunction with the 30th National Day yesterday.

The ceremony began with the handover of the national flag by Politeknik Brunei Cadet Supervisor, Hamizah @ Fateen Md Taha to the Acting Assistant Director of Politeknik Brunei, Alias Hj Abu Bakar.

The flag was then handed over to the guest of honour, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei Denis Ho Mun Tai who later gave it to army cadets.

The flag was hoisted to the National Anthem.

Politeknik Brunei in a press release said that the aim of the ceremony was to instil the spirit of patriotism, love for the country and a sense of nationhood among staff and students.

Officers, staff, lecturers and students were present during the ceremony.

It was jointly organised by the Students Affairs Department and the Student Union.

Meanwhile, a delegation of 14 people from higher education institutions from China, led by Deputy Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), Zong Wa visited the higher institution on the same day.

Politeknik Brunei said that the purpose of the visit was to understand the education system and to explore the possibility of cooperation between both parties.

The working visit began with a brief presentation about the programmes and activities at the institution, concluding with a question and answer session.

The delegates are scheduled to depart the country today.
