HRH at Lunar New Year reception organised by Chinese embassy

HER Royal Highness Princess Hjh Masna, Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, visited China’s envoy to Brunei Zheng Xianglin during a Lunar New Year reception yesterday.

Zheng presented to Her Royal Highness a pesambah, an embroidery titled “Mosque Near Water” which depicts the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque.

The embroidery was created by Su embroidery artist Wang Xuezhen.

Wang Xuezhen, born in Chinese embroidery township Zhenhu, in 1966, has been in the industry for more than 31 years.

Other embroideries were also displayed at a mini exhibition at the Chinese envoy’s residence. Guests were also treated to a lion dance performance.

Other guests present were Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar, Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Awang Abu Bakar Hj Apong, YB Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin, and other foreign envoys.

The Lunar New Year reception was organised by the Chinese Embassy.
