THE Fire and Rescue Department promoted a deputy station officer on probation, Ak Mohd Ali Rahman Pg Hj Salleh, in a ceremony at the Lambak Kanan Fire and Rescue Training Centre yesterday.

Ak Mohd Ali Rahman, who was promoted to station officer, started his service with the Fire and Rescue Department since February 14, 2013. He underwent basic fire course at the Fire and Rescue Training Centre in Lambak Kanan for three months.

He was then sent to the Fire and Rescue headquarters as an attaché in the administrative section of the Fire and Rescue Department before being sent to Singapore to participate in the 15th Section Commander Course for six months at the Singapore Civil Defence Academy.

The courses were mandatory for new officers at the department, as set out in the eligibility requirements for officers and senior superintendents.

Returning from Singapore, he was temporarily assigned to the Lamunin Fire Station in the Operations Branch E to help smoothen operations when flash floods hit Tutong district recently.

Ak Mohd Ali Rahman said he planned to continue improving the quality of his work.

As an encouragement to his peers and subordinates, he also urged them not to give up in chasing their dreams.
