VOLUNTEERS from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) and other groups in the country continue to help with cleaning up the houses affected by the flood in Tutong.

In a statement, YSHHB said its volunteers and Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB) students went to the houses of Nafsiah Timbul in Kg Pengkalan Dong and Hj Dali Hj Raya in Kg Penapar to remove mud and debris from the house’s interior and exterior on Friday.

Some of the ITB students also joined the Brunei Four Wheel Drive Association to clean 13 houses in Kg Layong yesterday.

Their effort was a continuation of the aid provided to flood victims since last week.

The Volunteer Unit of YSHHB, through its Emergency and Social Welfare Aid Project (PBKK), partnered with the Brunei Four Wheel Drive Association to hand out food, and provide manpower to the victims last week.

PBKK focuses on supporting the victims during times of hardship – especially immediately following a natural disaster.

The volunteers led by Pg Hj Dahrin Pg Hj Mohd Yassin, coordinating officer of the YSHHB Volunteers, will continue to assist the clean up effort in more affected areas such as Kg Panchong, Tutong and Kuala Ungar today (Sunday).
