AGC, ministries host Maulud events

MAULUD celebrations are still ongoing across the Brunei-Muara district, several of which were hosted yesterday by various departments and ministries.

Her Royal Highness Princess Hjh Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah graced the Maulud event held by the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) at the Law and Courts Building.

Ustaz Hj Jufri Hj Hidup, an officer from the Mosque Affairs Department delivered a talk, followed by a mass Zikir recital by all attendees at the AGC.

The Department of Education Curriculum and Department of Planning and Estate Management of the Ministry of Education also hosted a Maulud event at the Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre.

Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Abu Bakar Hj Apong, and Deputy Minister Dato Seri Setia Hj Yussof Hj Ismail attended the event.

A talk by Ustaz Hj Mail Hj Besar from the Islamic Da’wah Centre touched on the importance of educating the younger generation in fulfilling the concept of “Negara Zikir” (Zikir Nation).

He said the vision would be realised if the youth are nurtured to become knowledgeable, charitable, pious individuals with good morals.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) also held its own Maulud celebration yesterday with Acting Finance Minister II Dato Paduka Hj Bahrin Abdullah as the guest of honour. The event coordinated by the Supply and State Stores Department hoped to strengthen ties between the different departments within the ministry.

Invited speaker from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ustaz Muskriman Safari Hj Mustafa, spoke on the Prophet’s practices and its benefits to health and hygiene.

The events were all held to reflect and remind all employees at the ministries of the lessons which can be learnt from the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
