Ministries continue Dikir Maulud ceremonies

THE nightly Dikir Maulud continued last night when the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) delegation went to Masjid Kampung Layong in the Tutong District.

Present as the guest of honour was Dato Seri Setia Hj Abd Aziz Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Hj Mohd Yussof, Permanent Secretary at MoRA.

The event started with the congregation of Maghrib prayers, followed by Sunat Hajat prayers and recital of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour.

The Takmir committee of Masjid Kampung Layong presented a dikir performance, Assalamualaika, followed by Dikir Bishahrin from Islamic Studies Department (JPI) while Tutong District mosque officers presented Dikir Asyrakal.

Among the objectives is to enliven mosque and commemorating Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) birthday.

At the same time it is hoped to bond mosque officers and officials from the ministry with local congregants and villagers as well as to nurture unity and harmony.

Also present at the event were MoRA directors, senior officers and staff.

Meanwhile, a similar event was held by the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) at Masjid Kampung Lambak in conjunction with the celebration of Maulidur Rasul to mark the prophet’s birthday for the year 1435H.

The delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Hj Mustappa Hj Sirat. Also present were Masjid Kampung Lambak Imam Pg Hj Ismail Pg Hj Tuah, Head of Kampung Lambak Major (Rtd) Hj Mohd Jair Hj Abd Wahab, MinDef officers and staff as well as residents of Kampung Lambak.

The Dikir Maulud ceremonies will continue tomorrow night until its final night on January 13 which will be held at Masjid Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien.
