Ministries join in nationwide ‘Dikir Syarafil Anam’

MOSQUES around the Sultanate continue to be engaged with Dikir ceremonies, as part of the Dikir Syarafil Anam organised by various ministerial contingencies over 12 consecutive nights, in honour of the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In the Belait District, the Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Badaruddin Pg Dato Paduka Hj Othman, led a motorcade of members of the ministry for a Dikir Maulud ceremony in Al Masyhor Mosque in Kg Merangking, Ulu Belait.
“The convoy (leading the programme) represents one of the annual events run by the ministry to collaboratively celebrate the special occasion in Islam that is the remembrance of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” stated a press release issued by the Belait District Department.
The ceremony also aligns with the strategic core theme and vision of the ministry, which is to strengthen unity between village residents and maintain continuous harmony.
Also present at the _Dikir Maulud _was the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Datu Laila Raja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Halbi Hj Mohd Yussof, along with permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries of the ministry, Belait District officers, penghulus, village heads and committee members of Majlis Perundingan Mukim Belait.
Meanwhile, in the Brunei-Muara District, representatives of the Ministry of Education continued the 12-night nationwide recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam at Mohamad Bolkiah Mosque in Kg Serusop. Present at the event was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Abu Bakar Hj Apong, as well as permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, and other members of the ministry.
In Kg Belimbing Mosque, Kg Subok, the Department of Youth and Sports, under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, held their own Dikir event, enlivened with participation by numerous Muslim youths.
The commencement of the 12 nights of Dikir had been led by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pg Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Mohammad Pg Hj Abdul Rahman at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah mosque on January 2.
The celebrations will culminate in a nationwide parade led by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, around the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, on the Prophet’s birthday, 12 Rabiulawal, which falls on January 14.
