MEMBERS of the Village Consultative Council (MPK) Kampung Subok visited Temburong District yesterday as part of their end of year activities.

Council members also brought along their family on the visit to several key attractions in the area.

Their journey started in Kampung Batu Apoi where they saw the process of making ambulung (sago powder).

They also went to the Outward Bound Brunei (OBB) at Batang Duri, where they were given a tour of the facilities to further understand their operations.

The group also visited Kampung Belais dan Buda-Buda.

The group were met by the village head who explained the range of activities held in the village.

The village is one of the finalist for this year’s Excellent Village Awards (Anugerah Kampung Cemerlang, or AKC).

After a break to perform Friday prayers, the group concluded their visit by touring the 189-metre long “Friendship Bridge”.

The bridge was recently open this month linking Malaysia and Brunei.

One of the purposes of the visit was to expose members of the MPK to the numerous One Village, One Product initiatives in the district.
