Their Majesties grace Al-Falaah School event

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha graced Al-Falaah School’s 2013/1435 Ihtifaal (End of Year Celebration) and certificate presentation ceremony for its Kindergarten Three and Year Six pupils yesterday.

The monarch’s youngest daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah, 5, was one of 82 Kindergarten Three pupils, from branches of the school in Sungai Akar and Ban 5 in Mulaut, who received certificates. Her Royal Highness was also named one of the three best pupils in her class (for the morning session) at the Sungai Akar branch.

Her Royal Highness also participated in the recital of Surah Yassin from verse 30-54 which marked the start of the event.

The school had hosted Their Majesties in 2012 when His Majesty’s youngest son, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel, aged six at the time, was among 100 pupils who received their Kindergarten Three certificates.

Yesterday’s celebration also saw 21 pupils being presented with their Year Six certificates.

Six more pupils were awarded for excellence in their respective Year/class.

Three pupils who achieved top three positions in their respective categories in the National Level Al-Quran memorising competition held in conjunction with this year’s Nuzul Al-Quran celebration were also awarded.

The event stayed true to its history of being a lively and cheerful affair that is entertaining, educational and motivational.

Pupils were the centre for attention, donning colourful costumes in their performances.

Four pupils from Year Three and Four were also the event’s Masters of Ceremony who hosted the celebration in both Arabic and English.

Kindergarten Two pupils from the Sungai Akar Al-Falaah School participated in an Arabic story telling performance, English sketch titled ‘The Importance of Jamaah Prayers’ and Nasyid Allaahumma Salil ‘alaa Muhammad.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel was also part of a performance titled ‘The Boy and The Apple Tree’. His Royal Highness also attends the Sungai Akar Al-Falaah School. His Majesty then presented male pupils with their certificates, while Her Majesty presented certificates to female pupils.

Al-Falaah School Deputy Principal Hjh Sharifah Mastura Syed Zain expressed gratitude to parents of all pupils for believing in the school’s capabilities of educating their children not only in knowledge needed in this world, but also in the hereafter.

She added the confidence from all parents has contributed to an increase in the number of applications and admissions in the school over the years.
