32 UiTM Sabah students visit MoHA

THIRTY-TWO students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, yesterday visited the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), as part of a course requirement.

According to a ministry statement, the purpose of the visit was to expose the students to the administration of the Brunei government and to also provide an opportunity for the students and lecturers to exchange views with the ministry.

The students, who are studying under the UiTM Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies, were led by Professor Dr Chua Kim Hing, lecturer cum Head of the local government studies unit at UiTM, and another lecturer, Ibianaflorinciliana Niane Aning Anthony.

MoHA Permanent Secretary Dato Paduka Dr Hj Affendy Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Awg Hj Abidin gave a welcoming speech, which was followed by a presentation by Senior Administrative Officer Pengiran Hj Mohiddin Pg Badarudin, about the history, vision and strategy plans of MoHA.

Briefings about the local authorities, and the municipality, of Brunei Darussalam were then delivered respectively by MoHA Senior Special Duties Officer Hj Azmi Hj Abd Rahim, and Special Duties Officer Level One Hjh Ani Artika Masfazida Hj Salim, after which a question-and-answer session ensued.

The academic delegation also paid a courtesy call on Acting Minister of MoHA Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi Haji Mohd Yussof.
