A FATHER of four was jailed for 12 months yesterday after he pleaded guilty to committing theft earlier this month before the Magistrates’ Court.

Court documents stated that Masliman Roslin stole a remote control car, speakers, a radio and a small amount of cash from a two-storey house in Kg Madewa, which he entered and exited through a toilet window.

All the stolen items were subsequently recovered, except the cash, which the 35-year-old used to buy cigarettes, the statement added.

In mitigation, the defendant, who served a jail term for theft last year, cited financial difficulties for his latest crime.

The presiding judge, Senior Magistrate Hj Nabil Daraina PDH Badaruddin, told the defendant he should find law-abiding ways to support his family.
