Princess Hjh Muta-Wakkilah attends AGC’s Hijrah event

HER Royal Highness Princess Hjh Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah yesterday attended a ceremony to welcome the new year 1435 Hijrah at the Law Building in the capital.

Organised by the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC), the event saw a lecture on the enforcement of the Syariah Penal Code and the challenges the Islamic Da’wah Centre is facing.

Ustaz Muskrisman Safari from the Islamic Da’wah Centre delivered the lecture.

The event also coincided with AGC welcoming the return of officers, Hjh Suhana Hj Sudin and Hjh Samiyyah Emeralda Pehin Dato Hj Abas from performing the Haj this year.

The celebration was marked with a Dikir Marhaban performed by an all-male dikir group from AGC.

Also present was Attorney-general Datin Seri Paduka Hjh Hayati Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Hj Mohd Salleh and YAM Pengiran Anak Hj Mohammed Al Mokhtar YAM Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Hj Abdul Aziz as well as senior officers and staff at the AGC.

The new Islamic year is marked with the hijrah (migration) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Mekah to Madinah. The hijrah was a command from Allah (SWT) to propagate the eminence of Islam.
