Immigration officers conduct spot checks on businesses in Berakas

A FEW business owners have been summoned for further investigation over possible immigration offences.

According to a report from the enforcement division of the Department of Immigration and National Registration (JIPK), spot checks were made on foreigners selling goods such as food and clothing.

As a result of the spot checks, three special passes had been issued to the foreign workers after their documentation have been detained while three summons have been issued for their employers in order for the division to hold further investigation.

The routine spots check were made as a result from their surveillance unit, according to the report.
