SOAS Mosque completes Ninth Halaqah Zikir
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
THE ninth Halaqah Zikir held at the Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SOAS) Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan recently prayed for Allah (SWT)’ s favour for the country, particularly for its government departments involved.
Staff members and personnel of the mosque prayed that they may attain success, come into sustenance, be protected from ill and conduct themselves by the virtuous values of Islam.
The monthly programme which was initiated in March is one of the practical measures taken by the subjects of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to realise the titah calling for a transformation of the country into a Zikir Nation.
Zikir denotes the constant remembrance of Allah in all things, beseeching the citizens of Brunei to be conscious of God, with the awareness that Allah (SWT)’s will is imposed upon every act.
The monthly gathering is held at SOAS, with prayers and religious discussion (halaqah) led by mosque officials. The day’s session began with Sunat Hajat prayer followed by readings of Surah Al-Waqiah.
The session concluded with the special prayer for SOAS’s Halaqah Zikir led by Zulkifli Hj Murat, the mosque authoritative. The 10th and final session of Halaqah Zikir will take place in the first week of December.
