Assessment of excellent villages continues

THE assessment session for the third national Excellent Village Award (AKC) continued on its rounds yesterday at the Kg Pad Nunok Community Hall with Dato Paduka Dr Hj Affendy Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) as the chairman of the judging committee.

The AKC is an effort to facilitate a consistent socio-economic growth of villages and address the needs of the people as well as the community. This year, Kg Pad Nunok, Kg Bukit, Kg Bukit Sulang and Kg Kiudang, were chosen represent Tutong District. Each will be represented by their respective Village Consultative Councils (MPK).

The session yesterday started with briefings given by the MPKs of each village, proceeded by a Q&A session and ended with the judges visiting different sites of the villages involved.

The judging panel also had an opportunity to interact with members of each village’s MPK, taking a closer look at the administrative state of the villages.

The panel observed the workflow of projects conducted in the respective villages and examine the future arrangements made by each village.

This year the benchmark of evaluations include aspects of religious elements, economy, community welfare, sports and culture, the management and administration and also the education of in the respective villages.

Factors like the cheerfulness, beauty and the cleanliness of each village will also be considered.

Also present during the session was the Deputy Permanent Secretary at MoHA, Hj Ismail Hj Abd Manap who is also the deputy chairman of the judging panel as well as Wardi Hj Mohd Ali, Tutong District Officer.
