S'pore Air Force chief receives RBAF Honorary Pilot Wing

THE Chief of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Brigadier General Ng Chee Meng was awarded with the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAF) Honorary Pilot Wing, with the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The honour is in recognition of Brigadier General Ng's contributions in strengthening ties between Brunei and Singapore's Air Force.
On hand yesterday to present the RBAF Honorary Pilot Wing at a ceremony at the Royal Brunei Air Force Rimba Air Base yesterday was Royal Brunei Armed Forces Commander Major General Hj Aminuddin Ihsan Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin.
Upon arrival at the Royal Brunei Air Force Headquarters, Brigadier General Ng Chee Meng received the General Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour performed by Royal Brunei Air Force personnel. This was followed by a goodwill call to the Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force Colonel (U) Hj Jofri Hj Abdullah.
Brigadier General Ng Chee Meng and delegation will be in Brunei for three days on an introductory visit. While visiting the Sultanate, the Brigadier General Ng Chee Meng will also be making courtesy calls on Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defence in Bolkiah Garrison.
Brigadier General Ng was previously Deputy Chief of Air Force, and became RSAF Chief in December 2009. He joined the Singapore Armed Forces in December 1986, and was awarded the SAF Overseas Training Award the following year.
He also attained the SAF Postgraduate Scholarship in 2002, and holds a Bachelor of Science (Electrical Engineering) from the US Air Force Academy, USA.
The Singapore Air Chief also holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, USA.
Previously, he also served as the Commanding Officer of the RSAF's 144th Squadron; head of Air Plans Department; commander of Changi Air Base; and director of Joint Operations.
