HRH Crown Prince attends Chogm

HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office joined other leaders of Commonwealth countries at the Third Retreat Session and Second Executive Session of the 21st Chogm at the Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.
HRH attended the meeting as a personal representative of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
During the meeting, delegates discussed the adoption of the Chogm 2009 Communique which addressed global concerns and challenges facing the Commonwealth on political, social and economic aspects.
Leaders also endorsed the Port of Spain Statement on Commonwealth Values and Principles as well as Climate Change.
The next Chogm will be hosted by Australia.HRH left the Port of Spain later in the evening at the conclusion of the meeting. Prior to his departure, a doa selamat was read by Pehin Khatib Hj Mat Jaya Hj Ibrahim.
Present at the Piarco International Airport to bid HRH farewell was Minister of Public Administration of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Kennedy Swaratsingh and Senator Linus Rogers.
Accompanying HRH was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi.
